Greetings again!

Hi everyone! Once again, it's been a while since I've posted. Alot of changes have happened since I last posted, and I will get to that soon. For one thing, I am in Florida now, drawing at Disney World! I will get into how that happened on my next blog in the next couple of days, but it is late and I need to get to bed. Why did I even start this post then? Because I met a WONDERFUL lady today and had the most refreshing, Christ centered conversation I have had in a LONG time. And she told me to be more consistant with posting to my blog, and I told her I would, so I am starting tonight. I look forward to posting more drawings and letting you know about what's been going on. Talk to you soon! Here is a quick pic of me with other award winners at the last ISCA (International Society of Caricature Artists) convention in SanAntonio Texas last year. It was  a lot of fun and an honor to be recognized with these wonderful artists from around the world.

Ways to improve

Greetings all! To those who have asked me to teach, while I am developing a plan, here are a few things you can pay attention to to improve. I do not claim to have mastered these perfectly. No matter how much experience you have, if you are not pushing to improve, you may even decline in skill!

Anatomy
    It is always beneficial to study and master anatomy, even as a caricaturist. It gives your drawings a better sense of structure. When drawing quick life drawings at events, the structure will not always be perfect, but it will still have a more life-like quality.

Line quality
    Seek to improve the quality of your line work. Whether you have a more smooth flowing line style, or a rough sketchy one, make it consistent and well defined.

Angles
    Learn to draw the face from a variety of angles. Attack that three quarter view!

Growing the Biz!

Greetings all, and Grace to you! I am back to post a few more photos of live work. But I am really focusing on learning as much as I can about marketing and various ways to grow my  art business overall. I've mentioned this before, but I am trying to be more active and put more hours into it. Growing a business takes a lot of effort and tenasity, and up to now I have not put nearly enough energy into it as I should have. I have been waiting for opportunities to fall into my lap. The Lord does provide, most definately. He provided mana for Israel every morning when they were in the wilderness, but they had to get up, go out of their tents and gather it. I need to go out and make good use of my time and resourses, trusting in His guidance and provision. Anyway, here are some more photos.

Striving to improve

Well, as promised, I am trying to post more often. As I draw, I hope to sharpen and improve my skills. This may seem to be an obvious and unnecessary statement. After all, don't all caricaturist strive to improve their craft? Many, maybe even most do. But there are those who's skills and technique don't seem to change even after many years. They seem to have lost the joy of the art. It becomes just another way to make some money. But while I do not scoff at the money making aspect of drawing caricatures, I feel that if you are blessed to be able to do caricatures, you should always seek to take your art to new levels. This principal, of course, applies to any aspect of life. More on this later. Here are a few more pics from the GA Aquarium and a couple of corporate events.
